The Consumption of Alcohol and Cancer
The Rehabs in Gurgaon and the Rehabs in New Delhi mainly
discussed the use of alcohol being one of the most prominent factors to support
the cause of cancer, along with the consumption of tobacco which thus leads to
excess weight gain too. The use of alcohol for cancer support is around 6%
whereas tobacco consumption leads towards 4% of all cancer deaths in India,
still many people forget or do not even know the link between intake of alcohol
and the relation to it with the support of cancer. Therefore, the Rehabilitation Centre in Gurgaon,
thus have linked the use and intake of cancer with the following types of
cancers, they are as follows:
● Throat Cancer
● Mouth Cancer
● Voice Box Cancer
● Liver Cancer
● Colon and Rectum
Cancer
● Breast Cancer
● Oesophagus Cancer
The consumption of alcohol also increases
the risk of stomach cancer whereas the other types of cancers can also increase
the risk of stomach cancer as well. For each of the above mentioned types of
cancer, the risk of increase is found, whereas many types of cancer
specifically breast cancer in females can be found even with the consumption of
a small amount of alcohol as well.
Talking about cancers in mouth,
oesophagus and in the voice box, the consumption of alcohol increases the risk
with drinking and smoking together as the mixture of both the chemicals intact
directly hits inside our cells which thus affect the inner lining of our mouth.
At times alcohol consumption limits the working and repairing of these cells
and permanently damages the DNA of them. The most common condition is liver
damage or cancer as the long-term consumption of alcohol mainly can increase
the cause of inflammation and scarring of the liver which takes the form of
cancer eventually.
Therefore, the most common type of
alcohol which is found in drinks such as beers, wines and liquors is Ethanol,
which seems to be the most important contributor in raising the cancer risk
among human beings. It is a fact that alcohol starts to act like an irritant
for the body, specifically for the mouth and for our throat, where cells start
to get damaged and consuming continuous alcohol thus do not provide them with a
chance of repairing themselves which could change the complete DNA of the body.
Once the body starts to change its DNA, the alcohol starts converting into an
acetaldehyde, which is mainly a chemical which damages the DNA cells from
within the body. As we consume alcohol it also leads to oxidative stress in the
cells and causes the creation of more reactive oxygen species which can thus
damage the cells from inside and can increase the chances of cancer. Thus,
alcohol and its byproducts also have the ability to permanently damage the
liver where the situation can end up in destroying the DNA of the body which
eventually leads towards the path of cancer.
